According to a new report 1 in 12 people in India are diabetic and this is projected to increase rapidly in the coming years. This rise can be associated with poor nutrition habits and drastic lifestyle changes in the last 30-40 years. 20% of these diabetic patients are affected with diabetic foot ulcers that are chronic and non-healing drastically affecting the quality of life of these patients.
